PCG or Pokemon Card Game is the game of cards that was created after the making of the video game. They were first published in the year 1996 in Japan. The name “Pokemon” came from the Roman word for “Pocket Monsters.” The character of Pokemon itself is fictional and there are hundred of them in the gaming field. The very first one of them was called Bulbasaur, picture below, which is a blend word of “bulb” and “dinosaur.” It first appeared in Japan in the year 1996 in the game called Pocket Monsters Red and Green. These characters then spread from the video games to the card games moving to different countries of the world. Many of these packs are very expansive due to the story related to them or their rarity, anyway, these are the top ten that might cost you up to thousands bucks.
10 Pokemon Ex Cards
These packs made fame with the their two letters EX. They may cost you between 25 and 35 dollars. They are not very rare like the Pikachu or the Raichu but still some will take a $30 for expensive.
9 Southern Island Cards
Only 18 copies of the Southern Island Set Cards are in circulation. The rarity and the story behind the packs will cost you hundreds of dollars. These rare packs were made only after the cartoon movie Pokeman, hence such a few number. The sole reason was a kind of advertising, so the packs were not a goal in themselves.

For a hundred dollars you can find the Pokemon Gold Star Cards in a few number of stores. With a “shining” artwork on every card, some will have a reason for their bucks.

The Japanese Pokemon VS Series Cards costs double the price. Its rare circulation in the States will make it hard to find. But anyway, they will not cost above 200 dollars.

The Trainer Cards were the kind of Pokemon cards that were given only in the world championships as kind of prizes to the winners. The copies available are the ones that shared in these championships, so they are extremely rare.
4 Charizard Card
The Charizard card is loved by every Pokemon player and its holographic version in spades. Dubbed the “first edition” when they first appeared, you can now call it the rare edition. If the ones above have different number of copies in circulation, this one is much less available. With not so much fuss around it history, you will pay 2000$ if, only if, you find it.
3 Tropical Mega
The Tropical Mega Battle Prize Card is the pack named after a contest held in the end of 1990s in the United States. This special pack of cards were given as a prize for the winners. The Tropical Mega is now sold for thousands of dollars.
2 Raichu Card
The Pre-Release Raichu Card like the previous won has only a limited number of copies changing hands. For only 8 copies, the one pack is as rare as to cost 10.000 dollars. Now this Raichu company makes different packs and only 8 signed “pre-release.” Enough of a reason.
1 Pikachu Illustrator
The Pikachu Illustrator Cards are not the kind of cards that fill stores so you may find it anywhere, no. The Pikachu has by now only five packs in circulation and actually they have owned by a big number of people though they cost 20.000 dollars! shocked? eBay is helping you to go over it, as the pack is on sale for $100.000 only.
