Robot Boy Turned Fiction to Reality

One of the most interesting topics in technology is developing Robots. They became very necessary in our life. We depend on them perform many tasks that are considered to be impossible to be done by the human being. We use robots in many places in which we work such as  companies, factories and even our homes. The robots are always developed to be able to meet our needs and requirements thus, the idea of inventing a humanoid robot appeared.

Humanoid robots are designed to look like human beings and, to act and move like them. There are many kinds of humanoid robots that can move their organs and perform many tasks that we do. They can hold things with their hands, play and move their legs, climb stairs, move their heads, sit and bend.

Robot Boy is considered to be a development to the ECCE Robot that was designed  by the leadership of Professor Owen Holland of Sussex University and it was formed after studying the way in which the organs of the human body move, so it does not only aim at imitating the human movement.

ECCE Robot Boy

The Robot Boy is developed at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. It is shorter than ECCE as it is 1.2 meter tall and its body will be finished in March 2013. It has the ability to hold things with its hands, to bend and move its legs. It will be also able to ride a bike.

Developing the robot will enable it to respond and react with human beings in an easier way.
