Novels are not written randomly, but there are rules that you must follow to finally get a novel that deserves to be read. In order to make your novel fabulous, it must be interesting and it does not matter whether you are going to write a romance, literary, science fiction, commercial novel or any other type of novels because in all of these cases you need to be creative and to implement certain literary rules while writing.

♦ A notebook & pen for inspiration: The inspiration will not come to you where you are but you have to seek for getting it and you may find it by chance while being at any place. You can hear or see something that may inspire you and provide you with a good and creative idea that can be developed after that to form a complete novel.

♦ Old stories and memories: Instead of listening to what happens around you to start writing your own novel, you can make use of the old stories that were narrated to you by your mother or grandmother when you were young. You can also use the ghost stories that were fabricated to terrify you.

♦ Decide the genre and audience: It is important to take into consideration the genre of the novel and the audience that you target because each genre has its requirements. To be able to do that, you have to read as many novels as you can in the genre on which you want to concentrate.

♦ Outline: In order to help yourself to start writing, you need first to prepare an outline that includes the main points which allow you to easily develop them while writing your novel. Do not forget to set the place, time and characters that are going to be used in your novel.

♦ Protagonist: It is the most important character in the whole novel on which you shed light to attract the attention of the reader. You have to make the protagonist close to the reader to interact with it and to make your novel more interesting.

♦ The climax: The events of the novel should develop in an interesting way to attract your reader’s attention. The most important stage in your novel is the climax in which there is a conflict and the suspense increases and after that they go down when the main problem in the novel is resolved.

♦ First draft: After preparing all the requirements for your novel, start writing the first draft. It is not necessary to focus on the spelling and grammatical mistakes because it is just a first draft that will be edited later on.

♦ Too many drafts: Do not feel frustrated when you find that your first draft is not amazing and needs to be edited. You will need to write many drafts and it is a normal thing especially when you start doing this for the first time. If you are lucky, you will get a perfect novel after writing three drafts. You may need to write up to twenty drafts to get a right novel that is really stunning.

♦ Take a break: After finishing your first draft, take a break to keep away from what you wrote and read your draft as if you are an ordinary reader to be able to judge it and specify the points of weakness and strength.

♦ Ask others for their opinions: Show your work to those whom you know and ask them about their opinion on your work. It will be better for you to ask people whom you trust because they will be more honest with you.

♦ Take your novel to a publisher: If you feel that you wrote a perfect novel which deserves to be read and is really interesting, then take it to a publisher to be published.

Patience

Finally, you have to be patient and do not give up quickly because this work requires concentration, exerting a huge effort and it also requires spending a long time to achieve a good result.
