Shaping your eyebrows professionally and giving a perfect shape to them play a major role in making your face more attractive, enhancing your beauty, increasing your elegance, and framing the eyes. The shape of your eyebrows can reflect your personality and this is why you have to bear in mind that there are several factors that should be considered while shaping your eyebrows. The shape of eyebrows differs from one person to another and this is because the facial shape is also different.
Different facial shapes are chiefly responsible for the various eyebrow shapes that we see. The eyebrows differ in their types as there are thick and thin eyebrows and this is why you will find that shaping them is also different. Thick eyebrows which are usually full and long require tweezing while the thin eyebrows which are usually small and need to be filled require using a pencil in order to look thicker.
♦ Where to start?
Decide the end of the inner eyebrow or the point at which you are going to start shaping your eyebrow. You can easily do this through using an eyebrow pencil or any other thing that has a straight edge. Put the pencil in front of your face in a vertical position making it touch the outer edge of your nose and the inner edge of your eye. Mark the point at which you are going to start shaping the eyebrow using an eyebrow pencil.
♦ What about the peak of the arch?
Looking straight forward at the mirror is a necessity for completing this step successfully. Angle the eyebrow pencil to touch both the outer edge of your nose and your iris. Do not forget that all of this should be done while you are looking directly at the mirror because the peak of the arch is decided by the location of the iris that should be at the center of your eye.
♦ Decide the end of the eyebrow
Deciding the end of your outer eyebrow can be achieved by angling your eyebrow pencil more to touch the outer edge of both the nose and eye. Mark the point at which the eyebrow pencil touches your eyebrow. What is made for one eye is also made for the other eye.
♦ Determine the thickness of your eyebrow
In order to decide the thickness of your eyebrow, you can simply draw a line under your eyebrow and try to follow the natural arch of your eyebrows while shaping them.
♦ Tweeze the stray hairs
In order to give a perfect shape to your eyebrows, start tweezing all the stray hairs outside the marks and lines that you drew before with your eyebrow pencil in the above steps. The perfect thickness for eyebrows ranges from 0.5 to 1 cm (¼ to ½ inch) and if you want to make your eyebrows look natural, tweeze stray hairs above the eyebrows only without removing what is under the brows.
♦ Trim the long hairs
You may not need to follow the above step that requires tweezing hair because you may find that there are not stray hairs. In this case, you will only need to trim the long hair that comes outside the natural arch with the help of your eyebrow brush and trimmer.
♦ Make your eyebrows look thicker
If you have thin eyebrows and want them to look thicker, then all what you need is to use eyebrow pencils but make sure that the colors which you choose match the color of your hair.
♦ Set the hairs of your eyebrows in place
In order to achieve this, you need to use a clear gel and apply it on your eyebrow hairs after brushing them. You can also use the clear mascara as an alternative to the clear gel.
♦ Tweeze the stray hairs regularly
To make the process of shaping your eyebrows and caring for them easy, tweeze the stray hairs that appear regularly especially between your eyebrows and at the outer and inner edges because the hairs in these areas are the fastest to grow.
Note: Using ice over the areas with stray hairs that you are going to tweeze helps in numbing these areas especially if you have a sensitive skin or sensitive eyebrows.
