The sun is a prominent star located in the center of the solar system. The sun is a spinning huge ball of nuclear reactions and hot gas which lights up the Earth and provides us with the heat. The sun is a medium-sized yellow star which size is 93,026,724 miles from the earth. The Sun has been formed from 4.5 billion years ago and it has enough fuel to go on for another five billion years or so.The sun is composed of about 75% hydrogen and 25% helium with about 0.1% is metals that are made from hydrogen via nuclear fusion.
The sun is the prominent feature of the solar system with nine planets are moving around it in their orbits which differs from one to another according to its closeness or distance from the sun. To determine the temperature of the sun is to measure the energy of both light and heat which it emits. The surface temperature of the sun is approximately 9,900°F (5,500°C).
“About sunrise and sunset”
Actually, the sun does not rise or set, the sun is staying in its positions in the center of the solar system; but do you know why we see the sun rises and sets always?!
The earth rotates on its axis and completes its turn every 24 hours. The earth turns towards the east, this which makes the sun to rise and set on your town. When your town turns toward the sun and begins to enter its light, the sun seems to rise in the east; and when your town begins to leave the light of the sun and enter darkness, it appears to set in the west. That’s why, we see the sun rises from the east and sets on the west.
